What is Soul Retrieval?

Have you ever felt like a part of you was missing? At some point in our lives, we eventually encounter some level of stress, be it a traumatic experience, physical injury, fear, or loss in one's life. Sometimes these stresses are so overwhelming that the soul part affected splits off and flees to an altered state of reality to protect itself.

This leaves a person feeling like something is missing within him or her -- a sense of ungroundedness.

A shamanic practitioner can help an individual retrieve these soul parts and bring back a sense of wholeness within the individual. Being whole means living life to its fullest, with both feet on the ground.

Soul retrievals take place in my healer's hut, a womb-shaped structure nestled in Mother Earth. I use sound therapy during my soul retrieval sessions --Tibetan bowls, rattles, chimes, crystal bowls, dripping water, frog chirping, etc. -- to help balance the chakras (energy centers) of the body. Along with drumming, this helps to open a person up for the "homecoming" of soul parts that have arrived. It is important for a person undergoing a soul retrieval to open his/her heart and embrace each returning soul part and make room in his/her life for a more whole presence.
